APK installs fail for a handful of reasons, and almost all of them have a quick fix. Work through these in order. Most people are sorted by fix 2 or 3.
Fix 1: Download the APK Again
A half-finished download is the most common cause of “There was a problem parsing the package”. Delete the file from Downloads, connect to a stable network, and download it again from the official DM Play site. Do not open it until Chrome says the download is complete.
Fix 2: Remove the Old Version First
If an older DM Play app is already on the phone, a new APK signed differently will fail with “App not installed”. Uninstall the old app (your account and balance stay safe because they live on DM Play’s side, not on your phone), then install the new one.
Fix 3: Allow Installs from Chrome
Android blocks APKs by default. When you open the file, tap Settings on the prompt and turn on Allow from this source for Chrome (or for your file manager if you open it from there). Turn it off again afterwards.
Fix 4: Deal with Play Protect
Google Play Protect warns about most apps that do not come from the Play Store. If the APK came from the official DM Play site, you can choose Install anyway on the warning. If it came from a chat group or a “mod” site, do not install it at all.
Fix 5: Free Up Storage
Installing needs some free space on top of the APK’s size. Clear old videos or app caches, then try again.
Fix 6: Check Your Android Version
Very old Android versions may not support the app. If your phone cannot install it, use the browser version instead, and add it to your home screen from Chrome’s menu. It gives you the same games and wallet.
Fix 7: Clear the App’s Data if It Crashes
If the app installs but closes as soon as you open it:
- Go to Settings → Apps → DM Play.
- Tap Storage → Clear cache, then open it again.
- If that does not work, use Clear data and log in again.
